Taare Zameen Par-- Hats Off !!!
In his directorial debut, Aamir Khan , with complete creative control, has made something quite unique to the very language of cinema. Intially 'Taare Zameen Par ''s languorous pace is tad boring , with the most minute details of the daily life of eight-year-old Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel) being depicted with utmost perfection . He rolls in bed from one end to the other, makes a timely jump in a pool of water on the street, breaks out into an impromptu jig outside the classroom — it’s just if you are foolowing the kid .
The theme of the movie is Dyslexia, the lack of awareness of the parents, the complete irresponsibility of teachers are all there, But the USP of the movie lie in the perfect portrayal of nostalgia ( Suddenly you are transported baack to your schooldays.)
Darsheel Safary is undoubtedly the best child actor seen on the Indian screen, Darsheel hardly has one page of lines to deliver throughout the movie.. He smiles, sulks and sobs straight into your heart. The colorful bachdrop through out along with the sensitive writing of Amole Gupte is the soul-stirring music of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and the fluid camerawork of Setu kept me enchnated
According to me one of the underlying conveyed was -- How an under performer is looked down upon in our society !! Its no different for an eight year child too .!! ( Aamir does make this point in the movie )
This movie reminded me of Forrest Gump during some portions . ( The story of recognition of an underperformer coupled with nostalgia is always a potent mix for success)
